What is Ogigo?
“Ogigo” means mirror. It’s more than just a name, it’s a symbol of reflection, truth, and perspective. Photography itself is a mirror: it freezes a moment, reflects a culture, and reveals the stories behind every face and every place.
Our Founder’s Story
Ogigo was born during the stillness of 2020. Our founder, Alex Enokela Ogbe, a passionate visual artist and photographer with 16 years of experience, sat at home during the COVID-19 lockdown—no shoots, no travel, just time.
In that quiet, reflective time, an idea was born from a week-long deep dive into creativity: What if we could build a mirror where every Nigerian creative, even with just a mobile phone, could reflect their world back to us?
From learning on YouTube to 16 years in the field, Alex is proof that talent lives everywhere, not just in studios or galleries. Ogigo is his way of opening the door for others like him, ensuring that powerful stories from the grassroots don’t get lost.
